Young's Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Aaron Young is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Ecology. Aaron is originally from Michigan where he completed his undergraduate degree at Western Michigan University. After conducting avian research for several years, he received a M.S. from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 2016 and a Ph.D. from the University of Idaho in 2022.

Dr. Young’s research has focused on applied questions related to habitat relationships for avian populations and communities in working landscapes such as rangelands. His research to date has focused primarily on topics including demography, movement, and predator/prey relationships of songbird species in grasslands and shrublands that have been impacted by factors such as drought and invasive plant species. He also conducts methodological research on quantitative methods, including occupancy and abundance estimation using Bayesian inference.
