Jennifer K. Frey is a Professor in FWCE and also serves as the Curator of the NMSU Fish and Wildlife Museum. Originally from Kansas, she did her undergraduate and Master’s work at Emporia State University and her PhD and postdoctoral work at the University of New Mexico. Prior to arriving at NMSU, she was a faculty member at Eastern New Mexico University.
Dr. Frey’s research focuses on the ecology, management and conservation of mammals, although she also has experience conducting research on other groups of vertebrates. She is especially motivated to conduct research on rare, endangered, or poorly known species facing conservation or management challenges. Her research is field oriented but also based on modern analytical methods such as machine learning applications for developing species distribution models.
