Undergraduate scholarships available through the Department must be applied for through ScholarDollar$ using your MyNMSU login information. You cannot apply for an individual scholarship, but instead, students are considered for all scholarships for which they are qualified. Applications are due by March 1 each year. So, fill out the required information on ScholarDollar$ and best wishes!!

Remember, you won't be successful if you don't apply, so get to work!

Anthony J. Juliana Memorial

Anthony J. Juliana Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by Mrs. Lorraine Juliana and friends of her late son Tony Juliana, a senior at New Mexico State University, who died following an accident near Navajo Dam in the summer of 1976. The scholarship is effective at the beginning of the Fall semester in August. The scholarship is available to a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in Fishery or Wildlife Science at New Mexico State University. Residents of Eddy County, New Mexico, will receive preference.

Carol Gordon Memorial

The Carol Gordon Memorial Scholarship is awarded in memory of Carol Gordon, who was a Fishery Science major. The award is paid at the beginning of the Fall Semester. The award is reserved for sophomore, junior, senior or graduate students who have at least a 3.0 grade point average, and are residents of New Mexico.

Charles Harlan Graham Memorial

The Charles Harlan Graham Memorial scholarship is to remember Charles Harlan Graham. Charles was a fun loving and energetic person that created a positive atmosphere everywhere he went. Charles loved the great outdoors and was also very passionate about baseball. He died in 2013 having just turned 20 years of age. The scholarship is awarded to a FWCE major with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Claude Waner Memorial

The Claude Waner (Otero County Wildlife Federation) Memorial Scholarship requires that the student be a junior or senior in the Department of Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Ecology at New Mexico State University. First preference is given residents of Otero County.

Hubert Estabrook - Doña Ana County Associated Sportsmen

This scholarship is donated from the Hubert Estabrook Memorial Fund and administered by the Doña Ana County Associated Sportsmen. The scholarship will be awarded in variable semester increments to be applied to the cost of tuition, books, research needs, etc. Recipients of the scholarship are eligible to compete for a second award by reapplying for the next year. Preferential consideration is given to natives of New Mexico who are residents of Doña Ana County.

James Gardiner

The James Gardiner scholarship is funded by the New Mexico Hunter Education Instructors Association, sponsored by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. This scholarship is awarded to a wildlife major with a minimum 2.5 grade point average.

Lloyd O. Haun Memorial

The Lloyd O. Haun Memorial Scholarship is offered by the Chavez County Wildlife Federation. The scholarship is awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior who is pursuing a degree in fishery or wildlife science. Recipient must be a resident of Chavez County.

Mabie Legacy

The Mabie Legacy scholarship is sponsored by the Mesilla Valley Fly Fishers. This scholarship considers professional promise based on participation in professional societies, work experience and volunteer work for governmental agencies and conservation organizations. Please submit a letter stating your interest in fisheries, and past involvement in fisheries improvement, conservation-related activities and organizations. Indicate your goals after graduation. This scholarship gives preference to students from New Mexico or the El Paso area (length of residency will be considered), and declared Fishery Science majors at NMSU. Applications will be accepted from other majors in biological and natural resource-related fields. Students must be classified as juniors, seniors or graduate students by the time the scholarship is awarded in the Fall semester.

Ocie Gray Memorial

Ocie Gray Memorial Wildlife Scholarship is sponsored and made available by employees of the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish in memory of Ocie Gray, a graduate of NMSU in the class of 1959. He was killed in the line of duty with the Department of Game and Fish when a plane he was flying in crashed on Jan. 4, 1960. This scholarship becomes effective starting with the Fall semester each year. The amount of each scholarship will be determined on an annual basis and should provide a significant portion of the cost of tuition each semester. The amount will be paid directly to New Mexico State University. Scholarships may be forfeited if the recipient accepts a work program or the like, which takes him or her out of school for a period of time unless prior arrangements have been made with the Director, New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. The scholarship is made available in the next college year to sophomores, juniors and seniors who are New Mexico residents majoring in Aquatic or Wildlife Ecology and Management at New Mexico State University.

Phillip Church Memorial

The Phillip Church memorial Scholarship is paid at the beginning of the Fall semester. This award is given to a female sophomore with at least a 2.5 grade point average. Preference will be given to a Bernalillo County resident.

William & Mary Huey

This scholarship is in memory of Wiliam S. Huey and Mary Blue Huey. It will be awarded to sophomores, juniors, or seniors that pursue a major in Wildlife Ecology and demonstrated a financial need.

William A. "Bill" Humphries Memorial

W.A. "Bill" Humphries Memorial Wildlife Scholarship is sponsored by the employees of the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF) and other friends and associates of Bill Humphries, a twenty-seven year veteran, professional "wildlifer", and Assistant Director of NMDGF, who died while on official duty on Dec. 28, 1973. The amount of each scholarship is determined on an annual basis and should approximate the cost of tuition per semester. The amount will be paid directly to New Mexico State University. The scholarship becomes effective starting with the Fall semester each year and pays Fall and Spring tuition. Scholarships may be forfeited if the recipient accepts a work program or the like, which takes him or her out of school for a period of time, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Director, New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. The scholarship is awarded to high school seniors and university freshmen who are New Mexico residents. It is made available for the next college year to a New Mexico resident majoring in Wildlife Management.

Willis M. (Dub) Bird, Jr. Scholarship

The Willis M. (Dub) Bird, Jr. Scholarship is awarded in the Spring to a student majoring in Wildlife Management. Student must have GPA of at least 2.0. Preference given to an individual active in the NMSU Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society.
