Ken Boykin is a Research Professor in FWCE. Raised in New Mexico, He did his undergraduate work at NMSU, Master's at Texas Christian University and his PhD at NMSU. He has also worked at Colorado State University.

Dr. Boykin is the Director of the Center for Applied Spatial Ecology within the Department of Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Ecology and [New Mexico Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit (NMCFWRU) at New Mexico State University. He is also Director of New MexicoView. His research focuses on herpetology, species distribution modeling, ecosystem services and biodiversity conservation. He and his students have worked at multiple scales including local, state, regional and national. His students have focused on a wide variety of wildlife ranging from invertebrates to mammals.
